Engineers in collaboration with technicians designed a system of metal supports (to give stability) and bags filled with liquid cement (to give the structure the right elasticity). Once the turning operations were completed, the sacks would be removed through <strong>two special slings<\/strong> placed at the ends, while the supports would be lifted through a crane placed on a pontoon boat.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Once the rotation took place and while the wreck of the ship was traveling to the Port of Genoa, the operators noticed that  <strong>removal of the cushions could not take place as budgeted<\/strong>: using the special slings, the sacks would tear, spilling all their contents, still liquid cement, into the sea.
